What is the best way to wash my wool sweater or hat?

Wool is self-cleaning due to the lanolin in the wool. Hang the garment outside to air out overnight, but you can also hang it in front of an open window.
Washing in the washing machine is possible, provided you use a wool wash program. Wash only 1 or 2 sweaters at a time. It is best to use a wool detergent, not fabric softener! Hand washing is a safe way of washing. You do this as follows: Place the sweater inside out in plenty of water max. 20-30 degrees (not warmer, use a thermometer to check the temperature if necessary) with wool detergent. After 10 minutes of soaking, rinse and pat dry (do not wring). Drying is best done lying down, on a clean towel and not directly in the sun.

How do I get a stain out of my wool sweater or hat?

Wool is naturally moisture-resistant. The stain remains on it, as it were, and does not immediately absorb. It is therefore important to pat the stain dry as soon as possible with a moisture-absorbent cloth. Try not to rub. If the stain is not gone, rinse the stain with cold or lukewarm water (possibly with a little vinegar, depending on the stain). If the stain does not come out, try washing in the washing machine (on a wool program of course). Tip: consult an online stain guide for the right treatment.

What if a sweater is out of stock?

Knitting an authentic fisherman's sweater is a traditional process. It takes 4 to 8 weeks for a sweater to be knitted. The project is supported and carried out by volunteers. As a result, it can unfortunately happen that a sweater or hat is sold out. If a product is sold out, we will contact you and offer you customization. You can then let us know your sizes and preferences!

I have ordered an item, but I am not satisfied and want to return it, is that possible?

You certainly can! You have 14 days to change your mind. These 14 days start from the moment you as a consumer receive the product. The costs for returning the product are for you as a consumer. Products that are returned cash on delivery will NOT be accepted.

The return address is:

Museum 't Fiskershúske

Fiskerspaad 4-8a

9142 VN Moddergat

Netherlands

Please note! A custom-made product cannot be taken back, so a refund is not possible.

I have a complaint about the product I ordered, what should I do?
